The SmartShip Exchange event was organised for all those interested in the future of shipping to exchange ideas and network with this pioneering community of maritime professionals. Focus has been given on the latest technological innovations shaping the maritime industry and what it means for the future of shipping.
It was emphasised in the issues correlated with the increasing autonomy in shipping including a mixture of presentations, round-table discussions and panel debates from leading experts from the shipping industry worldwide including fleet owners, naval architects, designers, manufacturers, operators, harbour authorities and maritime research organisations.
During the event Mr. Kevin Forshaw, representing the University of Plymouth, which is member of the Cyber-MAR consortium, promoted the Maritime Cyber Research at the UoP and presented how working with Maritime stakeholders will contribute to improvement of cyber resilience in the maritime sector, which constitutes the goal of the Cyber-MAR project.
